I will show you how to get one. This is for the absolute beginner, and all you need is the internet. We’ll be using Photoshop Express (online) for photo editing, and will briefly explore online portfolio options such as Carbon Made, Krop, Wordpress, Behance and IM-Creator – all of which are free. The focus will be on photo editing, working together step-by-step using your photos and mine.

WOW ! Dublin Art Fair WON

2012 BEST SUBURBAN ART FAIR

Columbus Magazine - Best of The Bus - ColumbusFrom the community survey conducted and published by CityScene Magazine our very own Dublin Art Fair WON 2012 BEST SUBURBAN ART FAIR

This is quite an honor, considering that the competition includes several other incredible Art Fairs held annually in Worhington, Upper Arlington and Westerville.  We'd like to thank Bev Goldie for chairing this year's event; and Dennis Velco who made us all aware of the competition so we could all vote on Facebook!  The community response was fantastic!
Sandy Libertini and the Grand Scheme Productions team are a huge part of the success of the Dublin Art Fair, as they bring their own brand of focus and professionalism to the event for the second year in a row on Friday and Saturday, July 6 & 7, 2012.
To every past and future volunteer, we say THANK YOU!  Without Dublin Area Art League members pitching in and community volunteers helping with set up, etc, it would not have been voted the CityScene Magazine's BEST SUBURBAN ART FAIR!
We will have to work hard to earn that honor again with this year's Dublin Art Fair ("TWO YEARS IN A ROW, BEST SUBURBAN ART FAIR!").  Make plans now to be there and participate by volunteering to be a "booth sitter", or meet lots of artists by bringing lunch or water bottles around!  Dream Big and let's make it happen!!

May 10th regular meeting - DAAL Members' Spring Show Reception

Dublin Area Art League - Artist Member Spring Art ExhibitionAs a reminder to everyone that our May 10th regular meeting will be held same time yet at the Dublin Recreation Center on the second floor at the typical time of 6:30pm.  The stairwell is to your left just after you enter the front entrance.  Members are invited to bring a finger food item to share.  You are welcome to invite family and friends.  It great for them to see your work along side your community peers.  Also if you know of anyone who might have interests in the group, please invite them to see what we're about so they put us on their family calendar for next year to attend.

We would like to warmly thank Nancy Sinclare for chairing this event and taking it upon herself to document all the steps to chair such an event in our group.  At the reception Nancy will be acknowledging all those involved with this years show.

Gathering the Knowledge

In an effort to attract, engage and retain our valuable member base Dennis Velco will be spear heading an initiative that may involve interaction over the summer months.  There have been rumor, folk, lore and legion about "DAAL Operational" document in various forms of completion and state from hand notes to electronic memos.  The knowledge is vast however it is not centralized in documented format.  In an effort to take self improvement step giving everyone an opportunity to be a part of the information collection / submission and review tea.  This will provide the organization many benefits, but two being new member will feel open to volunteer for roles and projects that are well defined with often step-by-step instructions.  It will aid in reducing volunteer fatigue knowing that others can step in and pick easily.

So... as you review the volunteer opportunities below.  But you don't know quite what it's about.  First See the next article on Role Definition and Duties... .and you can have an active part in helping to further hone it for future DAAL Members to rely upon.

Please contact Dennis Velco if you have any notes at all.  He's offered to complie and start the documentation process in a single format.   This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

DAAL Volunteers - List and Open Opportunities

Dear DAAL Members,

As the year has progressed it is time to replace our board members with some new blood. We must have a President, Secretary and a Treasurer to continue as a non-profit organization. Below is a list of all the positions available for next year. The existing Vice President, Jean Moffit, existing Treasurer, Lyn Mazey and past President Cindy Bryden will be close by to answer question and assist during the year. We are all volunteers so make the position your own. There are a few rules required by the bylaws that must be followed and book keeping needs to be accurate. The Board makes suggestion to the general membership and we vote on the activities. Not  hard to do. DAAL just needs THREE PEOPLE that like to speak infront of people and can stay organized.

Call if you have question 614-793-9568
